We live in a day when pretty much every home has an Alexa, a Google Assistant, or some other form of a “smart home” assistant. In my home alone we have 2 Google Nest Hubs, 1 Alexa Echo Show, and 2 more Echo Dots in my kids room for nighttime music. Heck, my 70-year-old in-laws have a Echo Show and a Google Nest Hub in the same room as one another.
But as smart home tech gets more advanced we are starting to see new adaptations to our home assistants. One thing that is becoming increasingly popular are robot personal assistant.
You don’t have to settle for a standard screen or circular device to share the weather with you, answer random questions for you, or to even make fart sounds for your pleasure. Now you can ask a robot with some personality to do those things for you.
So, let’s look at some of the Best Robot Home Assistants that you can purchase right now for your home. There are a lot of great options and many that your kids will especially love.
Currently, I was only able to find 2 robots that I actually felt qualified as home robot assistants or personal robot assistants.
Vector Robot
Vector is an adorable little robot assistant from Anki, a world-famous robotics company. Vector is a tiny robot with a lot of personality. He comes with several features and tricks up his sleeves.
Vector Pros
- Affordable
- Understands commands and direction clearly
- Fun personality
- Takes video and photos
- Good for reminders
- Self-charging
- Works with Alexa
Vector has a lot of features packed into his little robot body. Not only is he useful when it comes to setting alarms or reminding you that your laundry is ready, he is also fun to interact with.
Vector will not only interact with you, but will also play with his little cube toy that comes with him. It is really neat to watch him move it around, toss, and just play…something you don’t really see robots do.
I also like that Vector can snap pictures and take short videos for you. The quality isn’t the best, but it is still a cool feature on this little robot home assistant.
Once other cool feature, that I kind of feel bad for liking, is that you can shame Vector. If you yell at him, he actually gets sad. His little face will show a frown and he’ll slowly drive away. Cute, yet slightly mean. Just another cool way they were able to give this little robot some human-like personality.

Vector Cons
- Doesn’t always find his charging station
- Limited responses
- Tiny
How Much Does Vector Robot Cost?
Compared to some other robot personal assistants, the Vector robot is rather affordable. Don’t get me wrong, they aren’t cheap though. You can buy Vector and have your own robot home assistant for under $500.
Lynx Amazon Alexa Enabled Robot
The Lynx Robot has been around for a while now and was one of the first real “personal assistant” robots we saw hit the market.
Lynx has a bunch of cool features. One of the most notable is his ability to work seamlessly with Amazon Alexa. You can
Lynx is also able to speak for you. You can talk into the remote and he will speak your words. A fun way to prank people, or tell your mom you need a sandwich without getting off the couch. Along with that, you can also see and hear through the little humanoid robot.
Lynx Pros
- Records and takes pictures
- See, hear, and talk through the robot
- Control via your phone
- Alexa enabled
- WIFI connectivity
Lynx is great to interact with. The little humanoid will understand most commands that you give him and seems almost eager to comply.
You can even use Lynx has a sort of security robot, as he can alert you if he doesn’t recognize someone. Yes, Lynx has a form of facial recognition – albeit it doesn’t always work that well.
The app that goes along with Lynx works fairly well. I noticed a few hiccups here and there, but still pretty good considering all that it can control and do.

Lynx Cons
- Expensive
- Hard to find for sale
How Much Does Lynx Robot Cost?
If you can actually find one for sale, you are going to pay upwards of $900 for it.
Selection Process
There are plenty of robots out there that dance, sing and respond to an app or interactive remote control. However, for this list I wanted a robot that would be able to give you information that you need in your daily life. So, I looked for robots that could access Alexa or Google, give you the weather, and other useful information, while still having a personality.
As you can see, the list isn’t huge right now. I will continue to look for robot home assistants that I can add to this list. I can only imagine that this list will grow significantly over the upcoming years.
Check back later to see what has been added! Thanks for reading!
