The technology in your smart home is continually evolving. We see new advancements in everything from streaming Smart TVs to security lights and beyond.
As the modern home relies more and more on technology, we’ll see more and more robots being utilized in everyday life. Now I know, you are seeing flashes of Terminator and SkyNet and imaging your home robotics one day turning on you. But, I don’t think we are quite there, yet.
So let’s go through your home and talk about the best robots to help you in your every day life. Here are my picks for the best robots for your home.
Table of Contents
The Best Robot Vacuum For Your Home
We can’t start this list with anything other than the popular robot vacuum cleaner, right? Even if you know nothing about the different kinds of robots out there, you have surely heard or seen a robot vacuum.
Robot vacuums can be used in every room of your home, from the kitchen to the mudroom. Most models are capable of handling carpets, hardwood, and pretty much every other flooring surface common in today’s home.
There are so many brands and models to choose from, making this a tough call on my part. But here goes.
iRobot Rooma S9+ | Best Overall Robot Vacuum
The S9+ is one of the latest and greatest from iRobot. While it does come with a hefty price tag, it is also packed full of tech goodies and impressive capabilities.
S9+ Pros
- Self-Emptying Docking Station
- Smart Navigation And Mapping
- D-Shape Design
- Smart Home Connectivity With Voice Commands
- Extremely Powerful Suction
- Great Design And Appearance
- Works With The Braava M6 Mop
S9+ Cons
- Expensive
- Louder Than Other Roombas
The S9+ is an impressive robot vacuum with very powerful suction. It can transition from hard surfaces to carpet without and problems.
It works better on hard surfaces than carpets, but still does a great job on carpet overall.
I was glad to see that the S9, much like the i7, switched from the typical round shape that Roombas usually go with, to the more practical D-Shape. You commonly see the D-shape on Neato robots and a few other brands. I find this shape to work better overall in the home. It can handle edges and corners better than its round counterpart.
The S9+ really stands out with its Self-Emptying Dustbin. No more bending over to retrieve and empty the filled dustbin after each use. With the S9+, as well as the i7+, the robot can empty itself.
This is a contributing factor to the rather large price tag of the S9+. But I really do think it is worth it, especially if you run your robot vacuum every day.
How how much is the Roomba S9+? The Roomba S9+ is going to cost you just under $1000. It is a steep sticker price, but you really get a great value in this robot vacuum.
S9+ Works In Tandem With The Braava M6 Mop
A very cool feature that comes with the S9+ is its ability to team up with the iRobot Braava M6 Robot Mop. The vacuum and mop will work together to clean your hardwood floors, tile, and/or laminates.
Don’t worry, the Braava M6 mop won’t follow the S9+ into rooms that have carpet.
Budget Option Robot Vacuum | iLife A9
Let’s be real – not everyone has an extra $950 laying around to throw at a new robot vacuum. That is a large chunk of change, for sure. Luckily the iLife A9 is a very capable budget option if you are looking for a robot vacuum that won’t break the bank.
And, you can pick the iLife A9 up for under $250. That is a great value for a very solid robot vacuum.
iLife A9 Pros
- Low Price
- Great Value
- Solid Cleaning
- Quiet
- Smart Home Integration With Voice Commands
A9 Cons
- Subpar Battery Life
- Not Great With Pet Hair
If you just need something to help clean up dirt and crumbs, then the iLife model is more than enough for your home. It works best on hard flooring surface or low-pile carpets.
I do not recommend this model if you have thick or high-pile carpets.
Best Robot Vacuum And Mop Combo | All-InOne
Now that we covered the best options for a robot vacuum for your home, we’ll move over to the best robot mops. Before we do that, I thought I’d cover The Best Robot Vacuum And Mop Combo. These devices, also referred to as All-In-One Robots, can do it all and save you some money, since you only need to buy one device.
Roborock S7 All-In-One
The S7 from Roborock is an impressive little All-In-One robot that does a great job on carpets and hard surfaces alike. Its powerful suction is great for almost all flooring surfaces, while its mopping capabilities can handle most daily needs.
Roborock S7 Pros
- Strong Suction
- Quiet
- Solid Mopping Abilities
- Easy To Set Up
- Good App Controls
S7 Cons
- Expensive
- Retractable Mop Head Can Get In The Way
The Roborock S7 comes with a quality app that makes scheduling and viewing the map very easy. You can also set up different mopping preferences based on a specific room. That is a very cool feature, because different flooring surfaces need different amounts of solution and effort.
How much does the Roborock S7 cost? You can pick up the All-In-One Robot for just under $700. That might seem expense, but we remember that you are essentially buying two robots. You are getting a vacuum and a mop in this one device.
Now, you could buy a cheaper robot vacuum, like the iLife, and then also buy a cheaper robot mop, like the iRobot Jet 240. Those two robots would combine for a total of just under $400.
The iLife doesn’t vacuum as well as the Roborock S7 and the Jet 240 is a tiny budget mop, but this could be a good solution for a cheaper price, if you don’t mind having two devices.
Best Robot Mops For Your Home
Robot mops, while not as popular as their vacuum cousins, are starting to gain steam in the consumer robot market. We are seeing more brands try their hand at dedicated robot mops and robot and mop combos.
Robot mops are great for any hard flooring surface. Whether you have tile, vinyl planking, traditional hardwood, or laminates, a robot mop will work well in your home.
In our home, the foyer, kitchen, and one hallway all have tile. This is where our robot mop lives and works. It does a great job on the tile surface and really keeps it clean of sneaker marks, general dirt and even some stains.
We have 3 kids under the age of 6, so our floors get punished during all meals! The robot mop does a great job at keeping stains and marks under control.
Braava M6 | Best Overall Robot Mop
When it comes to dedicated robot mops, I really feel that the iRobot Braava M6 is the best that money can currently buy. It isn’t crazy expensive and it does a very good job at keeping your floors clean, when used frequently.
Braave M6 Pros
- Modern Design
- Excellent Navigation & Mapping
- Can Use Washable Or Disposable Pads
- Quiet
- Cleans Very well
- Easy Scheduling
- Great App
- Can Work With Certain iRobot Robot Vacuums
M6 Cons
- Not Cheap
- Bottle Of Solution Doesn’t Last Long
I don’t have a lot of bad things to say about that Braava M6. We run ours probably 2-3 times a week and it really does well at keeping the tile floors pretty clean.
Now, it isn’t going to remove a spaghetti sauce stain that has been setting there for 2 months, but it will remove more recent stains and marks. I am actually surprise by what it does remove sometimes.
When it comes to robot mops, there are basically 2 cleaning styles. They either have a rotating brush that cleans, or they use a cloth or pad. The Braava M6 using a pad to clean. The robot will spray some of the solution out in front of it. It will then drive over the liquid and continue a few feet. It then stops and goes in reverse back over that same area, before moving forward again. So it does 3 swipes of every section of your floor.
I really do find the cleaning method of the Braava M6 to be superior to some others that use rollers or other methods.
As for solution, you do need to purchase this from iRobot. It is under $10 a bottle. I usually fill the reservoir with half solution and half warm water. This makes the solution last longer and still seems to work really well.
Do not use dish soar or anything else in the mop. You need to use the approved solution or just warm water.
The Braava M6 also comes with the ability to dock and recharge if needed. It will then go back and resume mopping, wherever it left off. And you can view all of this in the app. It allows you to see the job status and if spots were missed.
How much does the M6 Cost? You can purchase the Braava M6 from iRobot for under $350. For as much as we use this robot, I really do find this to be a great value and highly recommend it to others.
Budget Robot Mop | 240 Braava Mop
If you are looing for a robot mop, but do not want to spend over $300 on the M6, then the 240 from iRobot is a great budget option. It is a very small robot mop, so it isn’t ideal for large home, but it can work great for apartments or homes with small rooms that need mopped.
240 Braava Pros
- Inexpensive
- Cleans Well
- Small and Compact
- Quiet
240 Cons
- Only Good For Small Areas
- Takes A While To Clean An Area
- Won’t Get Up Tough Stains And Dirt

Now that we covered how to use robots in your home to manager your floors, let’s move up a few feet to those windows.
Best Window Cleaning Robots
Robot Window Cleaners are still rather unpopular in the consumer market. You’ll meet plenty of people who own robot vacuums and mops, but very few that have a robot window cleaner.
Frankly, the technology just isn’t quite there yet. Yes, there are some decent models that do a fairly good job at keep windows clean, but the set up and everything involved just makes it more of a hassle, in my opinion.
I am sure that in the near future we’ll see some better options flood the market, but for now, there are only a handful of Window Cleaning Robots that are worth checking out.
EcoVacs Winbot 880 | Best Overall Window Robot
The Winbot 880 is one of the latest window cleaning robots from EcoVacs. What makes this unit stand out from some similar models on the market is its square shape. The shape gives it an advantage over the more oblong and rounded window bots out there. The square body allows the Winbot 880 to get into the corners better and do a more thorough clean of your windows.
When it comes to window cleaning robots, there are two types:
- Models that use magnets to cling to your window.
- Models that use power suction to attached to the window.
The Winbot 880 is uses suction to attach to the window and help it move around as it cleans. I feel this is the better option of the two.Overall the Winbot 800 does a pretty good job at cleaning you windows. It has its limitations, like all current robot window cleaners do. It also doesn’t have smart phone connectivity through an app, which is a bit disappointing. It does come with a use-to-use remote control though.
Winbot 880 Pros
- Good Cleaning Quality
- Strong Suction
- Square Shape For Reaching Corners
- Good Remote Control
Winbot 880 Cons
- Expensive
- No App Control
- No WIFI Connectivity
How much does the EcoVacs Winbot 880 cost? You can find the Winbot 880 window cleaning robot for around $350.
Over all it is a good value for this cleaning robot. Personally, I would probably wait a few more years for the window robots to catch up to what we see from robot vacuums.
Runner Up | Gladwell Gecko
The Gecko Robot Window Cleaner is a great option if you are looking to pay less. You can get a Gecko for around $200. That is a very good value for a robot window cleaner.

Okay, we have now covered robot vacuums, mops, and window cleaners. Now, let’s move it to the bedroom. Get your mind out of the gutter. I am talking about a robot that can clean your bedsheets!
Best Sheet Cleaning Robot For Your Bed
That is correct, there are now robots that can clean your bedsheets for you. While the technology is still rather new and the robots aren’t exactly state-of-the-art, they can still be a nifty little investment.
You can place the robot on your bed and it will move around, using a strong UV light to clean and sanitize as it goes.
This is great for killing germs and maybe even some pesky bed bugs!
This robot is probably more practical for someone who spends lots of time on the road and in hotels. Give the hotel bed a quick shot of UV light to make you feel slightly less gross about sleeping on it.
Rockubot Bed Sterilizing Robot | Best Overall
The Rockubot using a total of 24 sensors to help it navigate around your bed. These sensors also help to keep the robot from falling off your bed. Spoiler alter…it will probably still fall off sometimes.
As it moves over your sheets, its blasts them with strong UV-C lights that kill germs and bacteria.
Overall it does a pretty decent job, but in no way is a substitute for regularly cleaning your sheets.
Rockubot Pros
- Strong UV-C Light
- Small and Compact
- Portable
- Good Battery Life Of 3 Hours
- Inexpensive
Rockubot Cons
- Can Still Fall Off The Bed
- Not App Connectivity
- Inconsistent At Times
It will be interesting to see if bed sanitizing robots become a larger market in the future. Right now, this is a pretty niche product that is probably best as a gimmick gift for an often traveling loved on.
How much does the Rockubot Bed Cleaning Robot cost? The Rockubot is fairly inexpensive at just $80. A pretty good value for the little robot.

Now that we have covered some of the robots to help with your chores and keep the inside of the house clean, let’s move outside and see what we have there.
When we talk about robots that can help out around the outside of your home, there aren’t as many options to discuss. The must common suggestion is going to be the robot lawn mower. But you might be surprised to find one or two other recommendations on this list.
Best Robot Lawn Mower For Your Home
Robot lawn mowers are gaining popularity in the US and Europe. We are seeing more and more brands come out with new models and copiabilities.
There still aren’t’ as many options as with robot vacuums, but that could be because of the much higher price tag of most robot lawn mowers.

Worx Landroid M | Best Overall Robot Mower
There really aren’t a great deal of distinctions when it comes to robot mowers and how they operate. Some use circular discs covered with tiny blades for cutting, while others use triangular shaped blades to cute.
Pretty much all of them come with the same safety measures. Those include lift sensors and tilt sensors, PIN codes, and even GPS or geofencing of some kind.
The Work Landroid is a very practical robot mower that comes at a very good value. It used 3 round spinning discs for cutting the grass. These do a very good job at keeping your grass short.
The Landroid has a more narrow design that some brands on the market, which does require it to maybe make one or two extra passed to finish any area.
Worx Landroid M 20V Pros
- Quiet Operation
- WIFE Enabled
- Good Cutting Performance
- Reasonable Price
- Easy-To-Use Mobile App
Landroid Cons
- Takes A While To Finish A job
- No Remote
Robot mowers are still picking up steam, but they do provide a decent value if you don’t enjoy mowing your yard. You also need to have a relatively small yard, probably under a 1/2 acre for them to be efficient.
Robot mowers need run very frequently in order to keep the grass short.
Keep in mind, you won’t get those nice mower lines like you get with your riding or push mower.
Overall, they can be a good value. I personally like doing yard work, this is one area that I don’t prefer to use a robot for my chores.
How much does the Worx Landroid M 20V cost? You can buy the Landroid M 20V for just under $1000. They are currently listed on Amazon for around $950. That seems high, but it is actually a very reasonable price for a robotic lawn mower.
Now that the lawn is mowed, it is time for dinner. So make your way over to the grill and throw those steaks on! Cooking the food and, obviously, eating it is the fun part. But when it comes time to clean and scrape the grill, that is a bit less fun. Do you agree?
This bring us to the next handy robot on our list. This robot is designed to make cleaning the grill a bit easier on you.
Best Robot To Clean Your Grill
Now, personally, I am a fan of my flat top Blackstone grill. I love that thing! So I don’t really need to worry about busting out the wire brush and scrubbing like crazy. I just use some water and a flat metal scraper.
But if you still use a good old-fashioned grill, then cleaning it is an important step in your maintenance. Failing to clean it can lead to a build up of crud that is very hard to remove.
Grillbot | Best Overall Grill Cleaning Robot
The Grillbot is super simple to use. You set it on your grill, hit the start button and then watch the robot go to work. It will move around the surface of your grill, scrubbing and breaking up debris as it goes.
The Grillbot has very hard and tough bristle that do a great job at breaking up that debris and removing it from your grill’s surface.
Maintenance on the Grillbot is also very easy. You can remove the brushes and easily clean them. That is really all there is to the maintenance.
Grillbot Pros
- Easy To Use
- Removeable And Washable Brushes
- Works Pretty Well
Grillbot Cons
- Extremely Loud
- Missing Spots
- Will Fall Off The Grill If Not Covered
The Grillbot doesn’t come with navigation or any mapping technology. It literally just moves around until it hits something and then turns and goes another way. So definitely cover your grill!
Overall it is a neat little robot that does a fairly good job at keeping your grill clean. You need to use it often for it to keep the grill clean.
How much does the Grillbot cost? You can purchase the Grillbot for around $110. It is a bit expensive, consider it has no smart capabilities. You will also need to buy replacement brushes after a while and those will run you an additional $15.
Keeping it outside, let’s move from the grill on your deck over to the vegetable garden. Yes, there is a small robot that you can use in your garden and flower beds. Let’s talk about it next.
Best Garden Robot For Your Home
Yep, there is actually a robot that can help you in the garden. No, it isn’t some fancy humanoid that can pick your tomatoes for you…although that would be sweet. One day, This is a robot geared to help you with your weeds.
Tertill Weed Robot | Best Weeding Robot For Your Garden
The Tertill Weeding Robot is definitely a unique little robot. It is basically a little Roomba for your garden or flower beds. You place the Tertill in your bed or garden, switch it on and let it go to work mowing down weeds.
Now the Tertill doesn’t have any kind of fancy AI or even smart mapping or navigation. It just roams around your garden at random, searching for weeds to cut down.
Once it comes a cross a weed, it uses a circular spinning blade to cut it down.
How does it know if it is a weed or if its a vegetable or flower? Very good question. In short – it doesn’t know. As I said, this robot doesn’t have artificial intelligence, so it has no way of knowing if it is in front of a weed or a budding green bean plant.
The Tertill is designed to sense and chop down anything under 2″ in height. The idea being that continually cutting down weeds of that height, they’ll never be able to get big and spread.
But yes, if you have smaller plants or flowers you run the risk of them getting the hatchet. So do not run the Tertill around young and short plants.
Tertill Pros
- Solar Powered
- Small And Portable
- Easy To Set Up
- Little Maintenance
- Good Value
Tertill Robot Cons
- No GPS or Mapping
- Lack of Sensors
- Risk of Your Small Flowers & Veggies Getting Cut Down
- Not Great In Corners
The Tertill is definitely different, but also pretty cool. I love that it used solar panels and a battery, so you don’t have to find another place to plug it in, in our garage. And the solar panel and battery actually store energy pretty well.
How much does the Tertill Weeding Robot cost? You can purchase the Tertill Robot and start effortlessly weeding your garden for around $350.
