Roborock S6 VS S6 Pure: Which Is The Better All-In-One Robot?

If you read any of my articles or reviews on robot vacuums, you’ll know that I am a huge fan of the Roborock brand. I think they put out some of the best robots on the market. They are also well known for their all-in-one devices, which offer great vacuum and mopping capabilities.

Two of the latest models to be released are the Roborock S6 and the S6 Pure. I thought it would be helpful if we took a closer look at these two models to see which is the best option for your needs.

Let’s start off by noting some of the main differences between the S6 and S6 Pure. You might be surprise to learn that not that much really changed between the two models.

Capacity – One of the most notable difference between the S6 and the S6 Pure is the capacity for storage. The dust bin on the S6 is a bit larger than that of the S6 Pure. Meanwhile, the water reservoir for mopping on the S6 Pure has the clear advantage over the S6.

Buttons – The S6 Pure got rid of the Spot Clean button, leaving only the Home and the Power/Clean buttons.

Sensors – In order to make room for that large water reservoir, the S6 Pure had to drop a few of its sensors. While the S6 is rocking 14 sensors in total, the S6 Pure had to go down to only 11. Rest assured though, the lack of those 3 sensors isn’t going to dumb down your robot or make it fall down the steps.

Ok so we covered some of the differences between the S6 and the S6 Pure, so now let’s move onto some of the similarities between the two robot models.

What The Roborock S6 And S6 Pure Have In Common

The S6 and the S6 Pure share a lot of features and functions. As you probably saw from the differences section above, there isn’t a huge amount that differs between the two models.

Auto Charging And Resume – Both models are capable of find their base station and recharging when the battery is getting low. After charged again, the S6 and the S6 Pure will both continue cleaning where they left off.

WIFI Connectivity – Both models will connect to your home’s WIFI connection, making them easier to control through their app or with your favorite smart home device.

Design – Both the S6 and the S6 Pure share the same typically Roborock body shape and design. Even the placement of the bins and buttons are pretty much identical.

Navigation – Like most robots from this brand, the S6 and S6 Pure use LDS navigation to help your vacuum/mop find its way around your home and map where it goes.

Select Room Navigation – Both models allow you to select specific rooms for cleaning. Likewise, you can set up scheduling by the specific room. So you could clean the kitchen on Wednesdays and the dining room on Sundays, if you wanted to.

There are several other things that the two models have in common, but I wanted to point on the ones that I personally would want to know about, if trying to decide on a new robot vacuum and mop.

Which Is Better At Mopping? S6 Or S6 Pure

Both the S6 and the S6 Pure do a decent job at mopping. I have to give the edge to the S6 Pure, mainly because it has a larger water reservoir, meaning it can cover more area before needing refilled.

As far as the actual mopping performance or technique, both models seem to do pretty much the same job.

The way the robots are set up, you are required to run the vacuum function over the floor 3 times, before it will switch over to mopping. It is the same for both of these models. So as you can guess, it does take a long time if you have a larger area to clean.

Is The S6 Or The S6 Pure Better On Carpet?

Both models have the same level of suction at 2000pa, which is more than powerful enough for most carpets and rugs. The also both use the same rollers, given neither model the edge of the other.

The S6 and S6 Pure work very well on low and medium-pile carpets. If you happen to have some thick or high-pile carpets, they might struggle a bit more. So, be careful on those shag rugs in the den.

The S6 Or The S6 Pure: Which Should You Buy?

The S6 and the S6 Pure are relatively the same device. The main difference is the size of the water reservoir on the S6 Pure. The S6 Pure is also a few dollars cheaper than the standard model S6. Given that information, I’d have to say that the S6 Pure is the better value and the better buy.

If it were my money, I would be spending it on the S6 Pure over the S6. You can purchase the standard model S6 for around $599. If you want the S6 Pure it will set you back closer to $520.

In Closing On The S6 Vs S6 Pure

The S series is a great all-in-one series of robot vacuums and mops. From much research we do see that the S6 and the S6 Pure are not that different. It really comes down to the size of the water reservoir and if you need that extra capacity for mopping.

Both models have the same strong suction, great technology and mobile app, smart home integration, and other cool features.

Save yourself a few bucks and go for the S6 Pure.
